Art is part of my heART

…always has been. I remember being six years old going to an art museum and being enthralled. My grandmother was an artist, my sister is an artist, my husband is an artist. I’ve  always been moved  with color: in nature, in a painting, in architecture, in peoples clothing, and on canvas.  

Born in Venezuela, lived in 11 nations; Surrounded by  indigenous people groups from around the world . The diversity and unity is amazing.  I am blessed. I am full.  Art is a way to express some of the beauty.  See in color, people, nature.

I’m most at home while being outside, living a bit of an unusual lifestyle, we lived in a Mongolian yurt in Mongolia. A village in Romania, a village in the Himalayas, a tent while fishing in Alaska, and a tent  while we are building our home here North of Bonners Ferry……. Idaho is home.  

The woods call me. Quaking aspen speak. They grow together. I fell in love with painting them using deep texture to sculpt them with a pallet knife. 

Wide open skies of the desert woo me in to a place of peace and wonder. My favorite place to paint is outdoors plain air.
